Guy Andrews announces new 7”single and debut album on the Houndstooth Label
This 7” release marks Guy Andrews’ debut on fabric’s artist-led label Houndstooth, and will precede his forthcoming album ‘Our Spaces’, also to be released on Houndstooth in March 2016. Entitled ‘In Autumn Arms’, the record includes one selected cut from the album, and one original piece of music exclusively for the single.
On the A-side is title track ‘In Autumn Arms’, which suitably captures the album’s overall pathos and emotive themes. A simple guitar melody falls melancholically over a bed of synth loops and string ensemble. The second track, ‘Let Your Shadow Decide’ is the darker, more downbeat counterpart to the A-side and explores Guy’s further use of orchestral timbres.
Having spent the last two years musically reinventing himself, ‘In Autumn Arms’ sees Guy Andrews take on a completely new creative direction. It took him over a year to find the right plug-ins, synths, and signal chains to be able to create the intense type of distortion he was searching for – hard and abrasive, but still musical and expressive. Guy’s re-focused approach breathes a new power and directness, with ‘In Autumn Arms’ opening up a new chapter in his musical career.
In Autumn Arms will be released on Download and 7” via Houndstooth on 13th November, 2015.

About Guy Andrews:
Guy Andrews is a London based producer who is best known for creating textural electronic music, which combines an array of influences from post-rock, techno, ambient and afrobeat inspired genres.
After a period of writing and producing ambient music under various aliases, Guy Andrews’ first release under his own name came about in 2011 for the critically acclaimed Hemlock record label. Since then he has gained support from tastemakers such as Massive Attack, Mary Anne Hobbs, Scuba, Untold and many more.
Guy Andrews has since released on a number of critically acclaimed labels such as Hotflush and Pennyroyal, scored for world-renowned photographer Nadav Kander, as well as collaborated with Massive Attack’s Robert Del Naja for a remix of his well respected Battle Box series. Guy Andrews continues to carve his way into the electronic music scene, exploring a new sonic palette with his début album out on Houndstooth in March 2016
