Float PR is a PR and Consultancy agency launchd in 2015 by Sofia Ilyas who from the offset gained high-profile campaigns for Dishoom and Carhartt WIP. Float PR has since worked on album campaigns such as Talaboman for R&S and Yorkston, Thorne and Khan for Domino records. In 2016 Float PR gained nura a revolutionary headphone brand as a long term client. They now represent their Global PR and activations taking them to Pitchfork Festival, Sonar, Ableton Loop and ADE. In 2017 Float placed DJ Sasha in the Barbican alongside a chamber orchestra and in 2018 Float began working with Jeff Mills. Float PR has worked on various events such as Tirkultura in Latvia, Dark Music Days in Iceland and Organ Reframed in London.
Float has an ethos of working with key individuals on each project which include Mariam Shahid (tech - online, print), Luka Seifert (music - online ) and Will McCarthy (music - radio and print).
In 2017 Sofia announced Float was to have a record label with a focus on music releases, a annual Piano Day event and clothing. For the labels launch Sofia curated a evening centered around the piano combining jazz, dance and grime to an audience of over 600 at the Union Chapel.
Sofia was previously at Erased Tapes for five years where she was an integral part of raising the profile of artists such as Nils Frahm as well as the label.
